One Girl Better Systems is the Pierce County-based project that magnifies the voices of girls* to support community stakeholders to develop solutions that prevent girls with status offenses from falling deeper into the juvenile justice system. The OGBS advisory team developed the Blueprint for Action, a set of recommendations that will inform community-led interventions and resource development to reduce the rate of unnecessary confinement and support girls’ ongoing success.
As part of those recommendations, the OGBS taskforce is inviting you to a virtual girl-led, racial equity-centered townhall event on October 22, 2021 at 5:30pm. Our purpose for the townhall event is to participate in conversations that create change, include girls in the conversations and center them in the work, and engage in strengths-based conversations about girls when they are not present.
Sponsored by the Justice for Girls Coalition of Washington State.
