Are you worried about your children being safe online? Join Puyallup Tribe of Indians Community Domestic Violence Program and Washington Trafficking Prevention June 8 from 5:30 – 7 p.m. on Zoom to learn practical tips to keep your loved ones safe. Online Safety for Families helps parents and caregivers learn how to keep youth in your life safe.

 

In this 90 minute program you will learn:

 

·       About human trafficking and grooming

·       Safety tips

·       How to strengthen relationships

·       Youth development

In 2020, online recruitment increased by 22%. 

 

During the lockdowns, the INTERNET was reported as the top recruitment location for ALL FORMS of trafficking. The Human Trafficking Hotline reported a significant increase in the proportion of potential victims for whom Facebook and Instagram were the sites for recruitment into trafficking (120%).

There was a 125% increase in reports of recruitment on Facebook over the previous year and a 95% increase on Instagram.
